People Involved
Principal Investigator: Dr. Anna-Ursula Happel, Prof. Heather Jaspan & Dr. Alex De Voux
Post graduate Researcher: Nokuthula Hlongwane
Bioinformatics support team: Ephifania Geza

Short description of project
This project uses multi-omics data from the UChoose trial to investigate how host cervicovaginal transcriptomic programs are shaped by inflammation and vaginal microbiome states in adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. The goal is to identify transcriptomic pathways that may explain differential mucosal immune responses and infection susceptibility.
